Spotlight on the Week that saw The Interview Pulled from Release

It was the week that saw Hollywood shaken to its core as Sony Pictures announced they were pulling the release of The Interview amid terror threats against theaters that planned to show the now controversial Seth Rogen/James Franco comedy. Stories of Sony’s email accounts being hacked flooded the news whilst the fate of the unreleased film hung in the balance.

Alongside this scandal celebs came out in full force to support the Brooks Brothers Celebrates the Holidays with St. Judes Children’s Research Hospital. Attendees got the chance to experience snow, reindeers and Santa. However it was an appearance from Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend Patrick Schwarzenegger that was the talk of the evening. We spoke to Glee star Matthew Morrison about the event.

We also saw the 11th Annual Dubai International Film Festival get underway with celebs including Eva Longoria in attendance. Earlier that day Eva also took to the panel to talk about immigration reform. Meanwhile in London, it was premiere o’clock in Leicester Square as Night at the Museum Secret of the Tomb was released. Ben Stiller and Ricky Gervais led the rest of the cast down the red carpet and took the time to comment on the late Robin William’s influence on this picture having starred in the previous Night at the Museum films.

Back in NYC the festive spirit was upon us as Kmart opened its doors for Marlo Thomas and patients from St. Jude’s for a ‘thanks & giving holiday shopping spree’ and Oprah Winfrey shared how she tries to keep the Christmas spirit all year round.
